Fresh 48 Newborn Sessions
Indoor Newborn Sessions
Outdoor Newborn Sessions
Newborn photography in the Hills District, in your home, outdoors at golden hour, or an in-hospital Fresh 48. Older siblings are always included, and I bring everything we need with me. I book newborn sessions by your due date, so your spot is waiting whenever your baby arrives.
Those first days are a little bit of everything. Beautiful. Exhausting. Overwhelming. Completely magical.
They pass in a blur, and before you know it, your tiny newborn isn't quite so tiny anymore.
I'm a mum to a busy toddler and a baby myself, so I know exactly how quickly these weeks go. That's a big part of why I photograph newborns the way I do.
I don't spend our sessions posing your baby into a long list of setups. Instead, I photograph your whole family as it actually is right now. The tiny details you'll want to remember but forget, like the size of their fingernails. Siblings meeting each other for the very first time. The way you and your partner look at each other now that there's someone new in the room.
We take our time. I'll follow your baby's lead and stop whenever we need to, for a feed, a change, a settling cuddle, or just because you need a minute. There's no rush, and no pressure for everything to be perfect.
Whether I'm photographing your newborn tucked into your arms, a big sibling getting to know their new best friend, or the quiet moment where everyone finally exhales, my aim is always the same.
To tell the story of what this time actually felt like.
Because these aren't just photographs of your baby.
They're photographs of your family becoming a family of more.
A newborn session at home isn't about your house looking perfect. It's about photographing your baby in the place they'll actually grow up.
Your home is where these early days are unfolding. Where they'll learn to smile, take their first steps, and leave their mark on the hallway walls. It makes sense to photograph them right here.
You don't need a styled nursery or a spotless lounge room. We'll use the places you already live in. The couch where you feed. The bed you've barely left. The patch of floor by the window where the morning light lands.
I'll work around the pram in the corner and the washing basket on the couch. You don't need to move a thing.
If your baby wants to sleep, we let them sleep. If they'd rather be held, we hold them. If your toddler has a meltdown halfway through, that becomes part of the story too.
Just your family, at home, in the middle of real life. Which is exactly where this chapter is happening.
You don't have to stay indoors for your baby's first photographs.
Getting outside changes something. There's more room, more air, and more space for the bigger kids to move, instead of being told to sit quietly in a lounge room.
We'll choose a spot in the Hills District that suits your family and spend the session walking, sitting on the grass, and letting the children lead. Older siblings can run, climb and explore, then come back to the baby when they're ready. I'll be watching for the moment they do.
These sessions suit families who are already feeling cooped up, and families with toddlers who need somewhere to put all that energy.
Golden hour is my favourite time for them. That soft, warm light in the last hour before sunset does something lovely to newborn skin.
Fresh 48 sessions happen in the first 48 hours after your baby arrives, usually in your hospital room.
Nothing about those hours is tidy. It's interrupted sleep, half-eaten toast, and a baby with strong opinions at 3am. I'm not there to tidy it up, the hospital is the backdrop. I'm there because this is what it actually looked like.
So I come to you in hospital and photograph what's really happening. The first time you held them. Their impossibly small feet. The feeding, the dozing, the first visitors, and your older child meeting the baby they've been hearing about for nine months. The little hospital bracelet on their ankle.
There's nothing for you to do except be there. You've just had a baby, and I want you present for it. I'll photograph around you and let the morning go how it wants to.
These are the only photographs you will ever have of your baby on the day they arrived.
That's worth having.
